Obituary

Andrew Richard Wallace, born August 7, 1980. Died February 28, 2019.

It is with deep regret and sadness that I must report the passing of my youngest son, Andrew Richard Wallace. I drove him to Beckley from my house around 7:00pm and dropped him off at his mothers. Our last words together were "I love you." He was making a pot of coffee in the kitchen at his mother's apartment around 1:00am and apparently felt himself passing out because he tried to hit the gas burner as he fell, but turned it up instead. His mother was asleep and smelled smok...e as the smoke alarm went off. She got out of bed and found him face first on the floor in the kitchen. She called 911 and the paramedics came right away. They worked on Andy for an hour but could not revive him. He once told me he would like to be buried beside his grandmother Terry in Greenbrier County. I told his mother I would sell my 2015 Mercedes to raise the money for his funeral expenses. No further arrangements have been made at this time.
Andy was a man's man, worthy of respect. He was one of the finest men I have ever known. He was a quiet man with an outstanding sense of humor who always spoke his mind without fear. He was a graduate of Fayetteville High School, and was not only a second degree black belt in Shoto Kan Karate, but a National Champion in Men's Division at age 17 in Walt Disney World at the U.S. Karate Championships in 1997. His children Sera and Eddie were his world and he loved them deeply. He will be missed, and the world is a little sadder now that he is gone.

Uncle Andy was my favorite uncle. Being around him was always a very funny and awesome time. He would always throw us upside down and try to give us swirlies. He was always protective, and would try to teach us self defense. He was really funny, and i miss him a lot. Rest in Peace Uncle Andy. We love you.
