Aldon C. Compton, 84, of Fayetteville, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday March 12, 2019 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, following a short illness.
Born January 13, 1935 at Fire Creek, WV. He was the son of the late James and Gertie Adkins Compton.
Mr. Compton attended Garten Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a carpenter by trade of 45+ years, you can see our Daddy’s handiwork in many homes, churches and businesses in several states. But the greatest passion he had was to minister the Gospel with his family as a group called “The Compton Family” in song and the Word, from the mountains of WV to the south of Alabama.
He was the greatest support, fan and hero to ALL his family in every way. He will be missed every day.
Our Daddy’s favorite quotes were “God gets gooder and gooder” and “I’m a Winner either way.”
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Tincher Compton, brothers Jackie, Alton and Harland Compton; sister, Loreida Garten and best friend Jr. Tincher.
Left to cherish his memory are his four daughters Pamela Reed and husband Raleigh of Southport, NC, Sandra Sears and husband Robert, Frances Lewis and husband David and Yvonne Blankenship and husband John, all of Fayetteville, WV; 19 very loved grandchildren Mary Beth (Scott), Kelly (Ronnie), Kimberly (Jason), Benjamin (Abbey), Hannah (Dereck), Shannon (Ryan), Kathryn (Rob), Rachel (Miquel), Michael, Tommy (Cindy), Joey (Jenny), Robert, Aaron, Ezra (Katie), Caleb (Stephanie), LCP Lewis, Elijah (Morgan), LeBreska (Matt), Jon-Paul (Brenda), and PFC Blankenship, Andrew (Ashley); 36 precious great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Dennis and wife Nancy, Darrell and wife Debbie, 5 sisters Donna, Magalene, Karen and husband Danny, Ella and husband Eddie, and Grace.
